Pakistan is known as a safe haven for terrorism around the world. The country has been involved in cross-border terrorism for decades. It has been enabling terrorists to infiltrate the border of its neighbouring countries like India. It’s not just the governments of neighbouring countries and the western countries criticising Pak for its actions. A small faction of independent journalists and media in the country have also been fighting and creating awareness against the terror-enabling policies of the country’s government and its all-powerful army. According to the latest report by ANI, author and political commentator Arif Jamal has said that Pakistan violates human rights with the aid of terrorism and militancy. He added that Pakistan justifies and glorifies its wrongdoings in the name of Islam. Jamal made these comments during an appearance on the podcast “Human Rights Sentinel,” which was presented by Senge Sering and Musaffa Akhawan.

He is a journalist, writer, and political commentator, who comes from the Punjab province of Pakistan, and has written numerous books. In response to a question about Pakistan’s strategic mindset regarding infiltration in Kashmir from one of the hosts, Jamal stated: “Human rights violations are associated with militancy and terrorism which are often ignored because Pakistan tries to glorify these in the name of Islam and service to Islam.” Jamal underlined that Pakistan is experiencing a rise in the “religious virus.” He pointed out that the crucial concerns related to Kashmir are ignored by Pakistani media. He added that this was one of the key inspirations that propelled him to write his researched articles and expose the truth about Pakistan to others. “I realised that there is no Pakistani media to address these themes and publish my articles the way I wanted them to be published,” he said. “I came to the realisation that I needed to learn more about these topics. To the extent that the Pakistani media could handle it, I also released my findings, he added. How Pak uses religious terrorism in Kashmir He claimed that Pakistan attempts to spread terrorist ideology in the Kashmir valley and that the media there shuts up the individuals who want to expose these unreported tales.
His works “Call for Transnational Jihad: Lashkar-e-Taiba of Pakistan” and “Shadow War: The Untold Story of Jihad in Kashmir” have both achieved international acclaim. Jamal stated that the “Pakistani military is also waging jihad in the region and aiding the terrorist organisations in the nation.” The podcast’s hosts praised the authors’ work and stated that if it weren’t for someone like you (Jamal) conducting the necessary research, these concerns would never have gained attention. In addition, speaking on Pakistan’s efforts in Kashmir to further its strategic objectives, Jamal claimed that Pakistan attempted to incite violence in the region and sought to draw attention to Kashmir after the 1987 Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly elections. “They enlisted young people with grudges from the valley. The original idea was to train 50–100 young people from the valley in PoK before sending them home. This, he said, was how Pakistan’s Islamist goal in Kashmir got launched. According to Jamal, this is how Pakistan’s fight for an independent Kashmir evolved into a jihadist movement. Money is another tool that Pakistan uses to spread terrorism, according to author Jamal. Cross-border terrorism by Pakistan Thousands of defence, paramilitary, and police personnel have died in the line of duty over the past 15 years and thousands more civilians have perished in terrorist attacks.
All responsible agencies manning the borders have experienced constant and unrelenting anxiety over the infiltration and smuggling of drugs, guns, and weaponry across the frontiers. It is all a result of Pakistan’s cross-border terrorism on Indian soil. The 3,323 km long Indo-Pakistan Border passes through the states of Gujarat, Rajasthan, Punjab, and J&K. The focus and tone of border security have changed because of the direct access to the borders and technological advancements that allow for the swift transit of information and money. Due to Pakistan’s terrorist groups’ effectiveness in establishing legitimacy based on their religious or ethnic identities, cross-border terrorism has gotten worse. The administration of the border for India has become more challenging due to Pakistan’s inadequate cooperation.
